This Fourth Report and Order, Third
NPRM and NPRM takes steps to implement the Wireless Communications
and Public Safety Act of 1999. This document designated 911 as the
universal emergency telephone number in the United States, seeks
comment on appropriate transition periods for areas in which 911 is
not currently in use as an emergency number, and seeks comment on
how the Commission can facilitate the States' efforts to deploy
comprehensive emergency communications systems.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
