On December 14, 2000 the Commission released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM), FCC 00-435, IB Docket No. 00-248. The NPRM was issued as part of the Commission's 2000 Biennial Regulatory Review and proposes streamlining and other revisions of Part 25 of the Commission's rules governing the licensing of, and spectrum usage by, satellite network earth stations and space stations.
