Procedural Requirements and
Policies for Commission Processing of BOC Applications for the
Provision of In-Region, InterLATA Services Under Section 271 of the
Telecommunciations Act of 1996.
The Public Notice sets forth the
procedural requirements and policies relating to FCC processing of
Bell Operating Company (BOC) applications to provide in-region,
interLATA services pursuant to 47 USC section 271. These procedures
were orignally established in a Public Notice released December 6,
1996 (FCC 96-469) and have been updated several times subsequently.
The modifications were developed based on informal input from fCC
staff, BOCs and other interested parties, and are necessary for the
efficient processing of these applications. The modifications
