OMB provides a
short term clearance of one year for these requirements under the
condition that CMS consults extensively with the commenters and
other interested groups. This consultation is necessary to
determine whether amendments can be made that will reduce the
unnecessary burden imposed by these requirements, while maintaining
or enhancing activities that are effective in monitoring and
discouraging "hospital dumping."
