In accordance
with 5 CFR 1320, the information collection is approved for a
period of three years. However, the agency must submit to OMB
response rates for individual surveys and, when necessary, plans to
improve response rates or to eliminate surveys. The agency must
also provide to OMB, a complete description of the methods used to
maximize response rates and to deal with issues of non-response. To
the extent that these efforts are not generalizable to all surveys
approved in this collection, the agency should be provide survey
specific descriptions. The agency must also provide current copies
of all surveys that will be administered during the approval
period.

Provides state and national acreage,
yield and production estimates for selected field crops. Weekly
crop progress and condition reports are provided during the growing
season. Production estimates are used in marketing decisions that
affect the nation's food supply.
