Under FERC-549C natural gas pipelines
will be required to modify communications standards to better
support Internet web page if the proposed requirements in
RM96-1-020 "Standards for Business Practices of Interstate Natural
Gas Pipelines" are adopted. FERC proposes to adopt Version 1.5 of
the consensus standards promulgated by the Gas Industry Standards
Board (GISB). The proposed rule is intended to benefit the public
by adopting the most recent and up-to-date standards governing
business practices and electronic communication. This includes new
shipper options such as title transfer tracking, plus standards for
imbalance
