information from state plan States. Any surveys consisting of three
or more identical questions sent to more than 9 states, or requests
for information other than usual and customary data that States
would readily be able to provide, OSHA will submit_to OMB for
approval through a change worksheet under this OMB number.

States choosing to operate
OSHA-approved State Plans must provide information to document that
their programs are, "at least as effective" as the Federal OSHA
program. This revision reflects revision to one of the underlying
regulations, 29 CFR 1953, State Plan Changes, and the resultant
reduction in burden hours.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
