Terms of Clearance: Approved. It is noted that this collection has been in violation of the PRA since 7/31/99. HUD has detailed its processes to avoid violations of the PRA to OMB and shall utilize those procedures to make sure that no such violations of the PRA occur in the future. HUD shall report this violation in the next ICB.

Abstract: A buyer may assume an FHA-insured mortgage by becoming the substitute mortgagor through the credit approval process. Prior to releasing a seller from liability on the mortgage note or for mortgages after December 15, 1989, HUD or a Direct Endorsement (DE) lender must review the credit of the assumer and record the approval on form HUD-92210.
