Abstract: The information collected under FERC-539 is used by FERC to im- plement the statutory provisions of Section 3 of the Natural Gas Act and for Presidental Permits under Executive Order No. 10485 for siting, construction, operations and modifications to natural gas import/export natural gas facilities. Section 3 requires prior authorization before exporting or importing natur- al gas to or from the United States. Section 3 authorizes FERC to grant an application, in whole or in part, with modifications and upon terms and conditions as FERC finds necessary or appro- priate.
