Terms of Clearance: Prior to the publication of the final rule (Risk-Informed Categorization and Treatment of Structures, Systems, and Components), NRC must provide to OMB a summary of all comments pertaining to the information collection burden imposed by this rule and any changes made in response to those comments. In addition, when the rule is finalized, NRC must submit to OMB a change worksheet that udpates the burden hours associated with 3150-0011 so that the hours accurately reflect the burden imposed by the final rule.

Abstract: The proposed rule, "Risk-Informed Categorization and Treatment of Structures, Systems and Components," would be allow licensees to implement alternative less prescriptive and burdensome "special treatment" requirements for structures, systems, and components of low safety-significance, but would require on- going evaluations and categorization records be kept to ensure safety standards are maintained.
