The Commission seeks a three-year
extension of OMB approval for the burdens contained in the Report
and Order, Order on Reconsideration, and Second Order on
Reconsideration regarding the Communications Assistance for Law
Enforcement Act (CALEA), which require that the Commission make
rules that regulate the conduct and recordkeeping of lawful
electronic surveillance. Approval for the burdens contained in
these decisions expires in June 2003.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
