49 CFR 390.15 requires interstate motor carriers to maintain an "accident register" consisting of a listing of all accidents (interstate and intrastate) involving their commercial motor vehicles. These records are used by the FMCSA to assess the effectiveness of the motor carrier's safety management controls. An SNPRM "Safety Performance History of New Drivers" affects this information collection, but does not change the requested number of burden hours.
