Analyses, and Follow-up Data on Events Involving the Use of Atomic

The data
collected through this instrument should not by itself be
considered sufficient to support regulatory action. In order to
support a rulemaking, the Commission should undertake a better
-controlled information collection effort.

NRC regulation require NRC licensees
to report incidents and events involving the use of radioactive
by-product material, and saource material, such as thos involving a
radiation over- exposures, leaking or contaminated sealed
source(s), release of excessive contimination of radioactive
material, lost or stolen radioactive material, equipment failures,
and abandoned well logging sources. NRC is requesting that the
Agreement States provide information on the initial notification,
response actions, and follow-up investions on all events involving
the use of nuclear materials regulated pursuant to the
AEA.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding
the proposed collection of information, that the certification
covers:
(i) Why the information is being collected;

(iii) Burden estimate;
(iv) Nature of response (voluntary, required for a
benefit, or mandatory);
