The Minerals Management Service (MMS) is responsible for the royalty management functions assigned to the Secretary who is required by various laws to manage mineral resources pro- duction on Federal and Indian lands, collection the royalties due, and distribute the funds in accordance with those laws. The Report of sales and Royalty Remittance, Form MMS-2014, is used for reporting oil and gas royalties, certain rents, and other lease-related transactions to MMS (e.g., transportation and processing allowances, lease adjustments, and quality and location differentials).
