The Social Security Act and 20 CFR 416.572 provides that an individual subject to withholding of Title II or Title VII benefits to recover an SSI overpayment may elect a rate of withholding that is different than the standard 10%. The information from this collection will be used to determine the proper amount of withholding. The respondents are Title II or Title VIII beneficiaries who are subject to withholding due to a Title XVI overpayment.
