FERC-577 information is required by
the Comission to implement the statutory provisions of Section
102(2)(C) of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (Pub. L.
91-190) (42 U.S.C. 4332). NEPA requires that all Federal agencies
must include on major Federal actions signficatly affecting the
quality of human life are to conduct environmental assessment. The
information collected is used by the Commission to examine the
potential efforts of a proposed interstate natural gas pipeline
construc- tion project on soils, geology, water, land use,
recreation, aesthetics, air and noise quality, vegetation,
wildlife,.........
