Abstract: This information collection is part of an effort to quantify the overall impact of GPS technology on the U.S. economy, in support of several major ongoing decision processes. The purpose of the survey is twofold: (1) to collect data on the overall size and characteristics of today's GPS equipment market; and (2) to assess market demand for the planned GPS upgrades. In addition, the survey explores demand for Galileo, Europe's planned satellite navigation system. The data to be collected is critical to impending policy and budget decisions now under debate within the National Security Council (NSC) Deputies
