Abstract: FDA is proposing to require shell egg producers to implement measures to prevent Salmonella Enteritidis (SE) from contaminating eggs on the farm. We are requiring records of sample testing and diversion requirements for shell egg producers. This information collection is a necessary part of the proposed regulation to reduce SE in shell eggs. Shell egg producers will collect information for each layer house on the farm.
