Abstract: The National Compensation Survey covers three major program areas: The Employment Cost Index (ECI), the Employee Benefits Survey (EBS), and the Occupational Compensation Survey Program. Data are collected from both the private non-farm economy and State and Local governments. Data produced from this survey are critical in determining pay increases for Federal workers; in determining monetary policy; and for use by compensation and benefits administrators and researchers in the private sector.
