The Community Development Quota (CDQ)
program allocates a portion of the quota for certain species in the
Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands to Western Alaska communities to
start or support commercial fisheries business activities. NOAA
needs to collect information to administer and manage the program.
The information collected will be used to determine whether the
non- profit corporation (CDQ groups) applying for allocations on
behalf of the communities meet regulatory requirements, whether
vessels utilizing CDG species meet operational requirements, and
ensure that quotas are not exceeded.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
