Pine Shoot Beetle (PSB) is a pest of
pine trees. It can cause damage in weak and dying trees, where
reproductive and immature stages of PSB occur, and in the new
growth of healthy trees. During "maturation feeding," young beetles
funnel into the center of pine shoots causing stunted and distorted
growth in host trees. PSB also acts as a vector of several diseases
of pine trees.
