The information collected is required so that the DOE can determine whether alternative fuel providers and state government fleets are in compliance with the alternative fueled vehicle acquisition provisions of sections 501 and 507(o) of the Energy Policy Act of 1992 (42 USC 13251, 13257(o)), and whether to award such fleets credits for certain actions under section 508 of EPAct 1992 (42 USC 13258). The information collected is provided by covered state and alternative fuel providers fleets. Because DOE has the authority under section 512 of EPAct (42 USC 13262) to impose civil penalities on those who .....................
