The National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well-Being, authorized under the PRWORA Act of 1996 (Section 427), is a longitudinal study of children who have come into contact with the child welfare system through an investigation by child protective services. The survey provides information on the children's functioning and well-being, as well as their service needs and service utilization.
