Approved without
change for two years, by which time DOT/PHMSA should report on
their progress in setting up a web site for submission of the
required information and also their consideration of other ways to
reduce the reduce the burden of this extensive new information
collection. OMB is concerned that, despite the size of this
collection: (1) the proposed rule specifying it was not accompanied
by an ICR, (2) neither was the final rule, which was published more
than a year ago, and (3) that the final rule did not solicit
comment on the information collection. (Such comment was, however,
solicited by a separate Federal Register notice on June 6, 2006.)
If any of the information in this ICR was collected before the
clearance here, that was improper and must be reported as a
violation in the next Information Collection Budget.
