The application form is needed to conduct a national competition for Fiscal Year 2007 for the Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math and Science Centers. These programs provide federal financial assistance in the form of grants to institutions of higher education, public and private agencies and organizations, combinations of institutions and agencies, and in exceptional cases secondary schools to establish and operate projects designed to generate skills and motivation necessary for success in education beyond secondary school. The Math and Science Centers provide an intensive six-weeks summer match-science curriculum program.

The 14,875 burden hours from 3 years ago was when there was only one application within this package. It was allowed to expire since Education did not need it for over a year. The new burden also properly divides the total burden by 3 since the applications are only used once every 3 years.
