Short Statement: The burden reduction is due to reviewing the actual number of volunteers, versus the estimated number of volunteers, throughout all of NARA. Since this is a fairly new information collection, the initial numbers reported were far greater than the actual numbers of volunteers. NARA has also noticed that when a new facility opens, such as a new Presidential Library, there tends to be more public interest in volunteering (in the new facility) than there is otherwise.
