This report is filed by operators of
recreational vessels involved in accidents. Data collected from
these reports are used to identify possible manufacturer defects in
boats or equipment, to develop boating safety programs, and to
publish accident statistics in accordance with 46 USC
6102.
The annual burden hours and
respondents decreased due to the number of recreational boating
accidents that satisfy federal reporting requirements continue
along a downward trend.
