This standard addresses the reduction
and avoidance of employee injuries and deaths during storage,
handling, transportation and use of explosives, including blasting
agents and pyrotechnics and to enhance the protections provided to
employees engaged in the manufacture, storage, sale,
transportation, handling, and use of explosives.

The proposed increase of 25
hours results from the Agency publishing a proposed revision to 29,
CFR 1910.109 currently titled "Explosivess and blasting agents."
The proposed revision would enhance the protecton provided to
employees engaged in the manufacture, storage, sale and
transportation, handling and use of explosives.
