This program provides government
finance data for state and local governments. This survey is
conducted annually, as a national census every 5 years, and as a
sample survey in each of the 4 interening years. The Census Bureau
provides these data to the Federal Reserve Board for constructing
the Nation's Flow of Funds Accounts, and the Bureau of Economic
Analysis for their National Income and Product Accounts. The data
is also used to monitor the government sector of the economy, and
to formulate, develop, and review public policy. Federal agencies,

The burden increase of 274
hours is attributable to the differential increase in average
burden respondents will incur in filling out the newly added F-12A
Form. The F-12A will be completed by a portion of the respondents
currently filling out the F-12. Respondents will not fill out both
forms. The F-12A has a greater average burden than the F-12. More
information on the newly incorporated F-12A Form can be found in
the written justification that accompany's this nonsubstantive
change request.
