Abstract: This is an application to participate in the international Research and Studies program, which provides grants to conduct research and studies to improve and strengthen instruction in modern foreign languages, area studies, and other international fields. For years this was one of the seven programs approved under OMB number 1840-0068.

Short Statement: This Title VI Application was one of the 7 applications cleared for years under the OMB number 1840-0068. Hence it is not really a new collection, but is being cleared this time as such so that the public will be able to more effectively utilize the 7 applications within international foreign languages and studies programs. The individual programs occur at different intervals and have similar audiences, though the differences are apparent with careful evaluations.
