49 CFR 595 Subpart C was establsihed to facilitate the modification of motor vehicles so that persons with disabilities can use the vehicle. Businesses who modify vehicles to accomodate persons with disabilities will submit information to NHTSA and to their customers, so that NTHSA can contact the business and consumers to inform them of safety issues with their vehicles.
