The U.S. Census Bureau plans to conduct additional survey work under the generic clearance for Data User Evaluation Surveys (OMB number 0607-0760).
The Census Bureau’s American Community Survey Office is planning a survey to evaluate user preference for the manner in which sampling error is displayed in the American Community Survey data tables. The feedback from this survey will help the Census Bureau decide how to display sampling error for the American Community Survey data tables in the future.
In March 2008, we will send emails to a random sample of 300. We will sample from the list of email addresses of persons who have registered to receive the American Community Survey Alert newsletter.
Statistical Research Division staff have reviewed and internally tested the questionnaire for ease of use and content appropriateness. We estimate respondent burden at 10 minutes per questionnaire for a total respondent burden of 50 hours.
We plan to maximize response rates by including a reminder e-mail.
