Changes to JAN-2008

The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) customer satisfaction surveys are currently approved by the Office of Management and Budget under the Department’s Generic Clearance of Customer Satisfaction Surveys (OMB No. 1225-0059). Currently, the Department is requesting to modify two of these surveys as discussed below.

The following changes will be made to the Employer form of the survey instrument.

Question 2 will be deleted because it is not a reliable question.

Questions 14, 23, and 26: The probes inserted when respondents answered “Don’t know” will be deleted because they do not yield any additional information.

Section 3 – Accommodation Outcome: The order of several questions will be changed to ask for all information related to Direct costs and benefits, then ask for the information related to Indirect costs and benefits (i.e., ask Q21 and Q22, then ask Q18 then Q24)

Question 19 will be deleted because it is irrelevant.

The following change will be made to the Small Business and Self Employment Services (SBSES) form of the survey instrument.

The Small Business and Self Employment Services (SBSES) form of the survey will be simplified by changing all SBSES references to “Self Employment.”

NOTE: Since the JAN surveys were originally submitted to OMB prior to ROCIS, all the collection instruments (not just the once being modified) as well as the original clearance form are included with this submission.
