The purpose of this request is to obtain OMB clearance to conduct a methodological study to assess the feasibility of adopting a Web-based version of the national Youth Risk Behavior Survey(YRBS)OMB Number 0920-0493. The planned data collection includes two questionnaires. The first will be administered to a national probability sample of high school principals to assess their perceptions of the feasibility and desirability of student Web-based data collection in their schools. The second will be administered to students to assess the feasibility of transitioning the mode of school-based data collection for the national YRBS from a paper-and-pencil questionnaire to a Web-based questionnaire. Feasibility will be assessed by determining whether prevalence estimates are comparable across study conditions without incurring a significant decrease in participation rates and questionnaire completeness in the Web-based mode. The data collection is time-sensitive, program needs to start data collection in January 2008 in order to complete the analysis and incorporate results into the next regular YRBS cycle.
