The data collected on the BE-11 survey provide a variety of measures of the overall opertions of U.S. parent companies and their foreign affiliates. The data are needed to measure the size and economic significance of U.S. direct investment abroad, measure changes in such investment and assess it's impact on the U.S. and foreign economics.
A "program change" of +5,315 burden hours is shown in the ICR summary. This change is attributable in its entirety to the expansion of the coverage of the BE-11 annual survey so that U.S. parent companies that are banks and their foreign affiliates and bank foreign affiliates of nonbank U.S. parent companies will now be reportable.
