These forms are part of the manifest
requirements imposed by the Immigration and Nationality Act and are
required upon arrival of any person arriving in the United States
from any place outside the United States. CBP is proposing to add 4
data elements to these forms. In addition, CBP is developing a
website called the Electronic System for Travel Authorization
(ESTA) that will automate the I-94W.
US Code:
8 USC
264 Name of Law: Immigration and Nationality Act
The increase is due to the
proposed addition of 4 data elements on these two forms, and to
account for a new website, ESTA, which is under development.
Collection of these data elements are needed for national
security.
