This final rule and associated
collection of information are intended to further the safety of
passenger train occupants through enhancements and additions to
FRA's existing requirements for emergency systems on passenger
trains. The required records will be used by FRA inspectors to
ensure compliance with this regulation.

This is a new collection of
information, and these are new information collection requirements.
The estimated total annual burden for this proposed collection of
information is 1,999 hours. There are no additional costs to
respondents other than those listed in response to question number
12.
