The collected information is used by
participating natural resource agencies to manage agency volunteer
programs. The information is collected from potential and selected
volunteers of all ages. Those under 18 year sof age must have
written consent from a parent or guardian. Participating agencies
include: Department of Agriculture (Forest Service, National
Resources Conservation Service); Department of the Interior
(National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land
Managmeent, Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Geological Survey); and
Department of Defense (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers)

The estimated burden hours and
number of responses have increased dramatically. In 2004, the
burden hours were 14,525 and number of responses 58,100. This
information collection request estimates 500,000 burden hours and
2,000,000 responses. This is an increase of 485,475 burden hours
and 1,941,900 responses (400,000 respondents).
