Abstract: Rule 17Ab2-1 requires entities that wish to register as a clearing agency or obtain an exemption from clearing agency registration to file an application on Form CA-1 and meet Commission standards for operation. These standards were adopted to aid in the development of a national clearance and settlement system for securities transactions.
