Information from this survey is needed to estimate final 2005 winter pear processing in Oregon. Your report will enable us to measure the pear industry’s contribution to the value of Oregon’s agricultural production. Response to this survey is voluntary and not required by law, but your help is needed to ensure accurate estimates. Individual reports will be kept confidential. Please return this inquiry in the enclosed envelope.

  1. Report all 2005 crop pears, other than Bartletts, purchased directly from growers or grower groups, including quantities diverted to other firms. Do not report fruit acquired from other processors.

  1. Report the average price paid as the equivalent price paid at the processing plant door on a pay-weight basis. Include any costs of harvesting, delivery, and other services you furnished without charge to growers. If growers delivered the raw fruit to the processing plant door, report actual price paid, including premiums and discounts.

  1. Report use of fruit on the basis of its initial processing. For example, fruit frozen for use in preserves should be reported under freezing.
