Other: The purpose of this change sheet is to request clearance under the Migrant Student Information Exchange (MSIX), 1810-0683, for an additional set of options for States to report the child’s grade level in MSIX in order to better align with what the Department is requesting for the same data element under the Consolidated State Performance Report (CSPR). The current MSIX grade level option for pre-kindergarten children is: “PS” or no value at all. In the CSPR, States are required to further breakout pre-kindergarten children in the following categories: Age birth through 2; and Age 3 through 5 (not kindergarten). We propose to align MSIX pre-kindergarten grade level with the CSPR as follows: Grade level values: P0 – Age birth; P1- Age 1 P2 - Age 2 P3 - Age 3 (not in Kindergarten) P4 – Age 4 (not in Kindergarten) P5 – Age 5 (not in Kindergarten) PS – In an official preschool program (not in Kindergarten) PX- Age 0-5; official preschool program unknown (not in Kindergarten) This is a change that will give States more flexibility in reporting grade levels and does not add additional burden as States must currently report at this level for the CSPR. With this change, the MSIX and CSPR grade levels will be fully aligned. See attached for updated full set of minimum data elements. In addition, ED is correcting the number of the responses. There was an error in the number of responses reported in ROCIS. This; however, does not change the total burden hours since that total was originally figured with the correct number of responses within the original supporting statement.
