The application is needed to conduct a
national competition under the Student Support Services Program for
program year 2009-2010. The program provides grants to institutions
of higher education and combination of institutions of higher
education for projects designed to increase the retention and
graduation rates of eligible students; increase the transfer rate
of eligible students from two-year to four-year institutions; and
foster an institutional climate supportive of the success of
low-income and first generation students and individuals with
disabilities through the provision of support services.
This is an reinstatement, thus
all burden is considered new. However, the previous burden hours
estimate was based on 1,200 applications and it is expected that a
greater number will be received.
