In 2007, CDC conducted the Maternity Practices in Infant Care and Nutrition (mPINC) survey. The survey collected information from intrapartum facilities, such as hospitals and birth centers, about institutional practices supporting breastfeeding. CDC proposes to conduct a follow-up mPINC survey in 2009 to assess changes in practices.
