What is this collection about?	This collection pertains to the vital system automation on commercial vessels that is necessary to protect personnel and property on board U.S.-flag vessels.

When must information be submitted to the Coast Guard?	Information must be submitted to the Coast Guard (CG) prior to construction of the vessel.

What happens when complete information is received?	The vessel owner or builder may be assured that the vessel, if built in accordance with the plans, will meet the regulatory standards.
