Automated vital system regulations are
necessary to promote the safety of life at sea on USCG certified
vessels. The Coast Guard reviews plans, tests, and procedurse to
determine compliance and evaluate necessary manning of automated
vessels. Respondents are designers, manufacturers, and owners of
vessel.
The change in burden is an
ADJUSTMENT due primarily to the change in the number of plans
submitted to the Marine Safety Center. For the period covered by
the last Collection of Information Document (2003 through 2005),
the annual average number of submissions was 872. During the period
covered by the current Collection of Information (2006 through
2008), the annual average number of submissions was 800.
