OMB Package # CS-10-214C
Justification and request for approval of additional Burden hours, and Proposed Changes to the previously submitted OMB Package for the, Compliance Center Examination (CC Exam)
Survey)
The vendor MACRO has completed three months of sampling, we found that the response rate is lower than anticipated. In an effort to stay on track to reach our annual goal of 2,000 completes, which was specified in the SOW, we would like to increase the monthly sample size from 760 to 1,200. This has no cost implications on our end, but may affect cost for the GPO print contractor.
Estimated Burden Hours as Stated, from original OMB Clearance Package:
“Based on a sample of potential respondents of 9,120 (approx 152 per site, per month) and a response rate of 25%, we expect 2,280 survey participants per year, leaving 6,840 non-participants. The contact time to determine non-participants could take up to two minutes, with the resulting burden for non-participants being 6,840 x 2 minute = 13,680/60 minutes=228 burden hours.
For participants, the time to complete the survey is 7 minutes. This reflects the time to read the pre-read letter (2 minute) as well as the time to complete the survey (5 minutes W&I CCE OMB, CY2010 6 of 6
maximum). The time burden for participants being 2,280 x 7 minutes=15,960/60 minutes = 266 burden hours. Thus the total burden hours for the survey would be (228 + 266) 494 burden hours.”
Additional Burden Hours Estimate, by Increasing the Sample Size:
Increasing the sample would increase the burden hours by 58% for the last five months of the year. Thus increasing the original 494 burden hours by 58% for five months would add 119 additional hours totaling 613.
