An information collection is required
in a petition for certification of eligibility for Trade Adjustment
Assistance (TAA) and in an application for TAA benefits. To
administer the TAA for Farmers, this collection will provide
essential data and economic information for use by FAS, FSA, ERS,
and NIFA (formerly CSREES) in preparing recommendations to the
Secretary to provide eligible producers in an effective and timely
manner.
Due to a program change, Form
FSA-232 increased the annual number of respondents by 250 and the
number of corresponding burden hours for this form by 50. In spite
of this, the total number of burden hours decreased from 14,000 to
8,371 due to an erroneous bookkeeping adjustment.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding
the proposed collection of information, that the certification
covers:
(i) Why the information is being collected;
(ii) Use of information;
(iii) Burden estimate;
(iv) Nature of response (voluntary, required for a
benefit, or mandatory);
(v) Nature and extent of confidentiality; and
(vi) Need to display currently valid OMB control
number;
If you are unable to certify compliance with any of
