OMB appreciates DOL/ETA’s ongoing efforts to improve the sample design and statistical methods of this collection. Because this collection is expected to change as a result of these strengthening efforts, this ICR is approved for a period of one year. During this time, DOL will do the following: •Continue to work with BLS to improve sampling methodology and obtain clearance from BLS on all technical material prior to the next submission of this ICR. •Proceed with the agency’s plan to: (1)evaluate the survey’s design for the purpose of identifying the sources of and addressing large design effects; (2)Assess the accuracy of the survey’s national-level point estimates; (3) Assess the accuracy of the survey’s regional-level point estimates that are used in population estimates and the NFJP allocation formula; (4) Review protocols and procedures for randomly selecting workers for an interview; and (5) Continue to provide OMB with quarterly progress reports. Additionally, OMB notes the chemical exposure questions will be submitted as a subsequent revision and are not included in this approval.

Miscellaneous Actions
Several factors account for the decrease in burden hours from the previously approved inventory of 3,411 to the current request of 1,601 (see Table 2 below): 1) fewer workers will be interviewed, 2) the alcohol questions will not be administered, and 3) fewer agricultural employers will be contacted.
