National banks file Call Reports pursuant to 12 U.S.C. 161 and other statutes. The data are used to evaluate and monitor the financial condition and earnings performance of individual banks as well as the entire banking industry. This submission involves the changes to the Call Report related to the Transaction Account Guarantee Program. In response to the modification of the basis upon which a participating institution's assessment is calculated for TAG program-related accounts in the FDIC's rule, the agencies are making a conforming change to the Call Report.
