Dear Coffee Miller:
As part of its service to agriculture and to the general public, the Department of Agriculture collects and publishes statistics on Hawaii’s coffee industry. Your response is critical as data from this survey will provide the most complete picture possible of your coffee industry and the important contribution it makes to Hawaii’s economy.
Response to this survey is voluntary and not required by law. However, your cooperation is important in order to ensure accurate estimates on Hawaii’s coffee industry. Federal regulations ensure that your responses are confidential and can only be used to prepare statistical summaries. Data are never revealed for an individual operation.
Please complete and return this questionnaire on or before June 26th in the enclosed envelope which requires no stamp.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 973-9588 on Oahu, or toll-free at 1-800-804-9514. Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely yours,
Mark E. Hudson

In reporting the amount paid to growers, only the charges for hauling, processing, and selling should be deducted. Other charges, such as the cost of sacks, fertilizer, etc., should not be deducted. Do not include any coffee (cherry, parchment, or green) bought from other millers.
